Red Foxes from the family, Vulpes
The
Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) is the largest of the true foxes and the most abundant member of the Carnivora, being distributed across the entire Northern Hemisphere from the Arctic Circle to North Africa, Central America and Asia.
I've found several collective nouns for the fox including a
skulk, an
earth, a
leash, a
troop and a
lead. I don't particularly like any of them and if I were in charge it would be something like a
sly or perhaps a
tail.
